HEARING AID REPAIR

Hearing aids have small working parts, and it is not uncommon over time for a hearing aid to need a repair. You may try to turn the hearing aid on in the morning and find that there is no sound; the battery door may come unhinged. These things do happen, even when the hearing aids are properly cared for. If you should experience an issue that needs repair, call the office for an appointment and we are happy to assist.  Your hearing team is equipped to diagnose broken hearing aids. Some minor hearing aid repairs can be done in the office setting in a short period of time; others will need to be sent to the manufacturer for repair.

We are able to service most major manufacturers of hearing aids and can tell you in the office if yours is a brand we service. Hearing aids come with a warranty when purchased new. If your warranty has expired, it is still possible to repair most hearing aids with a fee. Depending on the hearing aid manufacturer, this repair may come with a new year-long warranty. Your hearing professional will provide you with details during your appointment.

Redux Dry Treatment System in Johns Creek, Woodstock, and Gainesville, GA

We are thrilled to offer the Redux hearing aid drying system at North Georgia Audiology & Hearing Aid Centers.

Moisture can build up inside hearing aids causing them to sound weak, noisy, or unclear.  Even a tiny bit of liquid (0.5 microliters) in a hearing aid can cause a significant decrease in volume or even complete failure.  Standard hearing aid dryers are not able to remove all of the moisture, so we have invested in premium moisture removal technology with Redux.

  • Combines vacuum-chamber drying with humidity-level measurement to allow the vaporization of liquid at the lowest and safest allowable temperature for hearing devices
  • Provides a report of the total amount of moisture removed
  • Prevents 8 of 10 hearing aids from needing to be sent for repairs
  • 80% of patients will leave hearing better with completely dry devices (Redux.com, 2024)

The average out-of-warranty repair costs about $350 per hearing aid, but we now offer a Redux Recovery service for $165 (whether 1 or 2 hearing aids)!  Redux is also a routine included perk of our Concierge Program – call your local office today for service plan options!
